This March marks one year since the COVID-19 Pandemic surged, and the world shut down.  It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since many Americans discovered the Tiger King, learned to bake their own bread, made masks for friends, and collectively adjusted to an entirely new way of life.

Not everyone had the luxury of simply sharing memes and keeping tabs on stats related to the virus, though.  Many of our AskPatty Certified Female Friendly automotive locations remained open as essential services, and we remained open right alongside you (we’d been telecommuting for years, so we were able to just keep on truckin’).  In addition, healthcare workers, grocery employees, food service workers, drivers, delivery people, sanitation workers, child care workers, social workers, and many many more remained on the front lines, delivering essential services at great risk to their own health, and the health of their loved ones.

Not all survived.

In the months since last March, we’ve learned who is really essential in our society.  Doctors and nurses, to be sure, but there are so many others – we learned that our most essential workers are disproportionately in lower paying jobs, and that most of them are women – particularly women of color.

This March, we want to revisit the time when we all naively hoped to be back to normal by Summer.  We want to remember those essential workers who saw us through, and who continue to serve us today.  This March, celebrate essential workers in your community with a special offer.  Whether it’s a complementary oil change, a discount on service, a trade-in special at a dealer, or a buy-2-get-2 tire special, we want to encourage you to give something special to the workers who risked everything for all of us.

This month’s marketing materials have a space for a coupon.  If you have an idea for a special, we’ll be happy to add it for you, or you are welcome to edit the graphic accordingly yourself.

Let’s all hope that this March, we can all continue marching forward together – thanks to our front-line workers.
