As the Holiday season approaches (We know, we can’t believe it either) in the post-COVID world, we want to encourage all of the AskPatty Nation to take a new look at serving your community. We have many locations who already participate in turkey drives, work with their local food banks, and other wonderful causes. However, this Thanksgiving we’d like to encourage you to do something a little more unique, and no less important.
Every year, thousands of pets are surrendered by owners who have encountered economic hardships, and cannot afford their care. Organizations like the Humane Society work hard to provide these families with free pet food, cat litter, bedding, toys, and more, but they can’t do it alone. Hosting a pet food drive will help you give a Thanksgiving feast to some very deserving pets in need.
Similarly, every year parents who are in hardship have trouble buying diapers, formula, and other essentials for their new babies. Local diaper banks and women’s shelters work to provide these items, but they need all the help they can get. Collect diapers, formulas, blankets, toys, pacifiers, wipes, and other diaper bag essentials and provide more than just a turkey dinner for a family in need this Thanksgiving.
